Using The Muse website I have looked at some commom interview questions to get me thinking along the right lines in preparation for my mock interview on Wednesday.
I have chosen to interview for a designer role on the George Home team at Asda House in Leeds.
I have made quick notes in answer to the questions to jog my memory on specific areas I want to make sure I cover.
1. Tell me a little bit about yourself.
- travel
- surface pattern
- creative cravings
2. What do you know about the company?
- own experience
- information sourced for blog post about Asda
3. How did you hear about the position?
- my manager told me about it
4. Why do you want this job?
- loved my time at Asda - need something creative and I want to work for a company that produces for rhe people around me.
5. Why should we hire you?
- I have had the the creative training but also know I will fit in to the Asda environment and beliefs.
6. What are your greatest professional strengths?
- working to a commercial brief - flair rugs
- deadlines
- team worker
7. What do you consider your weaknesses?
- I'm not very patient and I'm learning to be so.. find it hard in group projects when people aren't pulling their weight.
8. Greatest professional achievement?
- flair rugs
- never had a job where they wern't sorry to see me go and have always been encouraged to move up - adamskids/ asda
9. Tell us about a challenge or conflict at work and how you resolved it.
- Italy - mobile homes.. calm organised move to another site.
10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
- honestly don't know, my aim was to get back through college and then university and now it is to get a job where I can be creative and challenged everyday.
11. What type of work environment do you like to be in?
- asda family / community
- impressed by the buzz first time I came to visit HQ
12. What's a time you excarcised leadership skills?
- exhibition brief at university
- replenishing team asda
13. What do you like to do outside of work?
- love to travel, Cambodia
- walking and camping, big reader, intros house & Garden Mag
14. If you were an animal what would you be?
- Horse, fast stubborn
15. What do you think we could do better/differently?
- home accessories sell out really fast
